August 22nd is the first official day of “Marathon Training” for me.
That sounds very ominous to me considering I’ve just finished the laziest week in years. I ran one time in the last 7 days.
The vacation was good, pounds were added and now it’s time for me to get back on my palomino.
Between now and August 22nd, my plans are to run miles. At least 3-4 a day.
What I am going to do is run and enjoy the run and not focus so much on speed and miles.
I kind of took the pressure of pace, time and distance off of my run and just started enjoying the space around me. I even found myself turning down the iPod a little so I can hear what’s around me. Almost meditative.
I think it also helps me air out my plans and thoughts for the day as well.
Keep it up out there guys. Whatever it is you’re working on….
Just don’t quit.
