Here’s to a new year, a new you and a new me!
I spent a lot of time thinking since the beginning of 2015 about what I wanted to change.
Of course, there are all the usual suspects such as “being a better guy“, “losing some weight“, “return to running” (pending a stupid little knee surgery in the near future), “yada yada yada” and “blah blah blah”.
The more thought I gave to these ideas, the less impactful they seemed. They’ll make me feel better in the long run.
But they aren’t “deep” enough.
By deep I guess I really mean “life changing”.
Yeah, losing weight again, running again and being an overall nicer person is definitely a must for me. But it leaves me feeling like I’m missing something.
So I’ve divided up my “life” into 7 categories:
- Spiritual
- Mental
- Physical
- Emotional
- Relational
- Financial
- Vocational
They seem pretty self-explanitory when you read them.
It was more challenging than I thought it would be. Especially if you are looking to make them SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Result-oriented and Time-bound).
How does one get “Specific” with a spiritual goal? How does one define the result you are looking for in the “Mental” category? And how can you set a time frame for completion in either?
“I’m going to be a super Christian by April 15, 2015”?
Of course, most of us really start praying around Tax Day anyway, right?
I have set most of my objectives, but I could use some thought starters from my online gang.
Drop some comments and let me know if any of these goals ring true for you.
What would you work on? And how would you get there from here?
*peace*
