One of the things that I have been working on is becoming more social. By doing so, I have found that there are several relationships that I’ve developed that have become “beneficial” to me.
Through networking and fostering new friendships, I have found some people in my life that have given “gifts” to my life.
I’ve met people of prominence.
I’ve met people who are willing to help me grow as a human being.
I’ve reconnected with people I once barely knew, now with whom I am developing friendships.
Everywhere I look there is someone new in my life that has something to offer more meaning and benefit to my life.
Being social can be tiring, but it has so much to offer that it can’t be denied.
If I need a friend to talk to: I have that connection.
If I need help with a financial question: I have that connection.
If I need someone to help guide my in my life goals: I have that connection.
If I have a weak moment in day: I have that connection.
If I have a weary heart and it needs uplifting: I have that connection.
What am I saying? CONNECT!
I’ve found recently that quite a few people I know read this blog. I’m quite stunned actually. What could I possibly have to offer someone? Being I’m so weak and all…
I can offer these things back to all of you:
A shoulder to cry on.
Ears to bounce ideas off of.
A pat on the back to give you assurance.
A smile to let you know it’s going to be ok.
A word of kindness to let you know that you matter to someone.
An action to let you know that what you are trying to achieve can be yours.
An example of what being blessed by his friendships can do for you.
So, keep your eyes out. Click that ‘Add’ button on Facebook. Reach and explore those friendships that are new to you, and don’t fear reconnecting with those long forgotten.
Somewhere in all of those smiles is a benefit to you.
Worst case scenario: You have another friend.
And in all of these new “connections” I have learned another valuable lesson: Never overlook the ones closest to you.
Next lesson… What is a “close relationship”?
